Bean Elementary School, located at 3001 Avenue N, in the center of Lubbock, Texas, is one of the oldest elementary schools in Lubbock. Constructed in 1939, Bean was named after George R. Bean, an early Lubbock pioneer. The attendance area today is from 19th Street south to 42nd Street and from Avenue Q east to Interstate 27. Bean currently is a school wide Title I school with an enrollment of about 520 students in kindergarten through fifth grade and a faculty of 60 teachers and support staff. The talented staff at Bean is led by our capable Principal, Crystal Boles, and our Instructional Specialist, Denise Smith.
